MTG began in 1949 as a CYO program for teens.
Under the stewardship of co-founder Fr. Anthony Zoghby, MTG swiftly grew into a full-fledged community theatre by 1954. In 1958 his mother donated the theatre that is today its home on Lafayette Street.
Father Zoghby's directorship was followed by Tom Pocase in 1972 and Mike McKee in 1984. Under Mike's direction, MTG focused on smaller-scaled plays and has won regional, national, and internatonal recognition.
